UMMC Alumni Affairs honors the School of Medicine Class of 1959 at their 50th reunion from medical school. This class was the first to complete all 4 years of medical school on the Jackson campus.
Janet Harris, MSN, RN, NEA-BC received the 2012 Nursing Alumnus of the Year Award at the recent School of Nursing Annual Meeting.
Zelma Cason, 2012 SHRP Alumnus of the Year.
John B. Smith Jr., DMD, received the 2012 Dental Alumnus of the Year Award at the recent Dental Alumni and Friends Reception.
Chancellor Dan Jones, M.D, received the
2011 Distinguished Medical Alumnus of the Year Award at the MSMA Medical Alumni Chapter Welcome Reception.

Each of the five alumni chapters seek to promote the welfare of The University of Mississippi Medical Center, to foster and increase the affection that exists between the Schools and its alumni to the end that through their united efforts The University of Mississippi Medical Center may develop into a greater educational institution that will serve the people of Mississippi with ever-increasing effectiveness. Each alumni chapter is composed of a president and president-elect and board of directors which meets annually. We are in the process of establishing the Graduate Studies Alumni Chapter of the University of Mississippi Alumni Association. We are excited about initiating this connection with our health professional alumni. For your convenience, you may update your address information on-line.
